You Can Choose a Life or Time-Limited Plan

How to Select the Right Level of Cover

To limit your premium cost, choose a time-limited policy, with less than 100% coverage, and a high excess–the excess is the amount of a bill that you pay before the insurance starts. For example, if the vet bill is £100 and the excess is £40, the cover will apply to £60. With 90% cover your benefit will be £54.

As your rabbit ages, the possibility of a long-term, chronic condition increases.

Once you have a policy, making a claim for vet fees will not cause your premium to go up. Timing is particularly important for life plans–as your rabbit will not be eligible after a certain age–usually age 5.
